The news in brief:
Despite Santa's best efforts to spread peace on earth and goodwill to all men, we're still killing each other, kidnapping each other and destroying the homes and lives of the innocent, all in the name of Religion.
Spare a thought for the unlucky ones who Santa won't make it to tonight - for the children enduring the bitter cold in refugee camps.
